God's Plan of Salvation

Heaven is a place many people talk about, and many people are unsure about. Not everyone knows with certainty that they are going to go to Heaven. Others just assume they will because that is how they have always figured it would work out.  The truth is that the same God who tells us about Heaven in His Word also tells us how to get there.

We don’t begin by just assuming that we will go. Rather we begin with understanding that:

1. Everyone is a Sinner
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
The reason we “come short” of God’s glory (God’s righteous or perfect nature) is because “all have sinned.”
“All” includes me, and it includes you. First of all, you must agree with the Bible and admit that you are a sinner.

2. Everyone Owes a Sin-Debt
Romans 6:23 “…For the wages (PENALTY OR DEBT) of sin is death…”
This is speaking of eternal death, which is also called “the second death.”
Revelation 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
Secondly, you must realize that if you die in your sins, you must pay the penalty for sin by dying in Hell forever.

3. Everyone’s Sin-Debt Has Been Paid
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death’ but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Although sin brings eternal death, God wants to give us eternal life. Notice that eternal life is not through going to church, being baptized, or being a good person, but it is “through Jesus Christ.”
Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
The third thing you must believe is that Jesus has paid the wages of sin by dying for you, and eternal life is only through Him.

4. Everyone Can Be Saved
Although Jesus died to pay everyone’s sin-debt, not everyone is on their way to Heaven. You must personally receive God’s gift of eternal life. You must believe in your heart and ask Jesus to save you.
Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you would like to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, simply bow your head right now and humbly:
1. Admit to God that you are a sinner.
2. Tell Him you believe Jesus died for you.
3. Ask Him to forgive you for your sins and save your soul.
4. Believe that he promised to save you.
